Organized by the ESSEC Business School in partnership with the Ministry of the Economy and Finance, this prestigious award recognizes the achievements of Wattwiller in sustainable development.

Since 2012, ‘le Grand Prix ESSEC des Industries de la Consommation Responsable’ rewards the best CSR practices carried out in the FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods) sector. Organised by ESSEC’s ‘Chaire Grande Consommation’ and its students, it aims to promote stakeholder (manufacturers, distributors, associations, public authorities, media) interaction around CSR.

The French business school’s award is organised around 6 categories: environmental impact reduction, offering sustainable products and services, collaborative partnerships within the industry, providing information and services that benefit the consumer, human resources & solidarity and social engagement. Additionally each year a ‘personality of the year’ is chosen.

A jury made up of independent experts and ESSEC students named Wattwiller the winner in the "Environmental impact reduction" category. The company's global vision, its capacity for innovation in terms of CSR, but also the implementation of projects and the impact of their results through the study of key indicators, were highlighted by the jury.

Valérie Siegler, General Manager of the Grandes Sources de Wattwiller.

"The entire Wattwiller team is proud and honored to receive this benchmark award. We warmly thank the jury, who have just recognized 10 years of action and commitment to reducing our environmental impact. It is also a great encouragement to persevere: carbon neutrality is a step, other strong commitments have already been made for the future." – Valérie Siegler, General Manager of the Grandes Sources de Wattwiller.

1st French SME in the mineral water market to become 100% carbon neutral

In 2020, Wattwiller achieved carbon neutrality over the entire life cycle of its products. This certification, which reflects the commitment and measures taken by Wattwiller, was obtained as part of the Science Based Targets Initiative (international objectives aimed at keeping global warming below 1.5 °).
